Is the price you’ve seen a reasonable one?

Here are the prices to watch for during Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, and the January sales if you are looking for a bargain.

We believe that, based on historical pricing data, these prices represent genuine savings on some of the most popular Shark models

We’ve observed that Shark prices tend to rise in the weeks preceding significant sales events, such as Black Friday, creating the illusion of discounts on the day itself.

In the table below, you can see how the prices of various Shark vacuums fluctuate. Use this table with our top tips to separate the deals from the duds.

Each model’s performance in our independent vacuum tests against rivals from Dyson, Gtech, and others can be viewed by following the links to our reviews.

Tips for obtaining the best Shark offer

When Shark vacuums are frequently on “special offer,” it can be challenging to determine which savings are legitimate.

Follow these golden rules to obtain the most outstanding value:

1. Do not be fooled by appearances

Shark models include features such as “Flexology” (a flexible cleaning tube), “Lift-Away” (a detachable handheld mode), and “TruePet” (an extra motorized brush for dealing with pet hair).

Despite being functional, most of them are not original. Most other brands offer comparable features, albeit with more conventional names.

Therefore, please do not purchase a Shark vacuum based solely on its features. There may be cheaper alternatives with the same functionality.

2. Compare the prices of comparable models

Most Shark models come with a standard package and a more expensive pet variant that includes a mini-tool for cleaning up after your furry companions.

Occasionally, purchasing the basic model and the pet tool separately (usually for £20) is preferable. Always check the variants’ prices, as the pet version may be available for less than the base model.

3. Consider how many batteries you need.

Sharks without cords are sometimes sold with two or even three batteries. If you choose a package that includes extra batteries, you can extend the runtime of your vacuum, and you won’t have to purchase a replacement battery if one eventually dies.

As replacement batteries can be purchased from the Shark website for approximately £70, the package only makes sense if it is priced similarly to the single-battery model.

If you live in a smaller home, you do not need extra batteries. A single charge should last long enough to vacuum your entire home in one go, and battery defects should be covered for the first two years by the manufacturer’s warranty.

4. Review the most recent price data

If a deal seems too good to be true, you can use price comparison websites like PriceRunner and PriceSpy to examine historical pricing information. It is also worthwhile to perform a quick Google search, as these sites do not capture some retailers’ price feeds.

The data should reveal how frequently a vacuum goes on sale (if it is on a “special offer” for most of the year, the offer is not particularly special) and whether the “before” price is accurate.

5. Shop around

There are some excellent Shark vacuums, but there are many others, including cheaper alternatives from other brands. See our recommendations for the best cordless and corded vacuums to find the best deals.

6. Don’t pay to have your old vacuum cleaner recycled.

Typically, if a retailer offers to recycle your old vacuum cleaner, they will charge you a fee. Consult our guide on how to recycle electronics to determine your options.
